Accountants Welcome New Trainee

Chartered accountants Murphy Salisbury have welcomed a new member to their Stratford-upon-Avon team.

Trainee accountant Richard Hartwell, from Evesham, joined the practice on 21 July after graduating with a degree in business studies from Nottingham Trent University in May.

During his course, he studied topics including marketing and HR but it was the accountancy element that most interested him and on which he focused once he was given the opportunity to specialise.

Richard, who is following in a family tradition by choosing an accountancy career, as his father is also an accountant,  will begin his formal training for qualification with the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) in March 2009, a process that takes three to four years.

Prior to starting his training, he will be gaining hands-on experience of accountancy work and has already been introduced to bookkeeping and drawing up sets of accounts. Richard said: “It’s brilliant – I’m really enjoying it.”

Murphy Salisbury partner Paul Salisbury said: “We are delighted to welcome Richard to the team and look forward to helping him develop his accountancy career. It is by continuing to build our team in this way that we can further strengthen the high quality service we offer to clients and to continue to move forward as a practice.”
